Making the most of your research data: FAIR data for marine biologists
(Bio-)ingenieurswetenschappen
(Bio-)ingenieurswetenschappen
A practical, hands-on course to teach marine biologists how to make their data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable
By making your data FAIR you are making it easier for others to find and use, hence giving your data a popularity and lifetime beyond what you could otherwise achieve. In this 3-day course, we will teach you about FAIR data: what does this mean and how can you achieve it? We will show how to make typical marine biology data-types FAIR with lectures and interactive sessions.
This course is intended for on-site participants, but we can also accommodate online-only participants for the first 2 days. Days 1 and 2 will be a mix of lectures and exercises for both the on-site and online participants. On day 3 we will hold a "Data FAIRness clinic" in which you can make your own datasets FAIR, and this is open only to the on-site participants. All materials will be provided online and open access for future trainers to be able to use “back home”.
