Join internationally renowned experts for an afternoon of exploring the latest research on feline behaviour and welfare.

Discover how cats interact with humans, gain new insights about feline emotions and behavioural problems from a psychobiological perspective, and learn how social dynamics influence welfare in multi-cat households. The programme includes expert lectures, an interactive panel discussion on current welfare challenges, and a PhD defence presenting novel research on feline social behaviour.

After attending this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand current scientific insights into the social relationship between cats and humans, and how this impacts the cat-caregiver bond.
  2. Interpret behavioural problems in cats from a psychobiological perspective and learn how this impacts diagnosis and treatment.
  3. Evaluate key welfare challenges affecting domestic cats and discuss practical strategies to support feline wellbeing.
  4. Recognise social dynamics within multi-cat households, including interactions (allogrooming, tail signals) and the relationships between cats and implications for welfare.

Opmerkingen

This study afternoon is primarily designed as an in-person event, giving participants the opportunity to connect, exchange experiences, and network with fellow professionals in the field.

We understand, however, that not everyone will be able to attend on-site. To ensure that interested colleagues can still benefit from the content, the sessions will be recorded and made available for viewing afterwards.

Please note that the event will not be livestreamed. Access to the recordings will be provided after the event has taken place.
