Description

Immediate provisionalization of dental implants plays a key role in preserving peri-implant soft tissue architecture and achieving optimal esthetic outcomes. This lecture will highlight the biological principles underlying soft tissue stability around implants. Attendees will learn how a temporary restoration can support and shape the peri-implant mucosa from the earliest healing phase. Clinical protocols for immediate loading aimed at minimizing soft tissue collapse will be discussed. The indication for immediate provisionalization in combination with soft tissue augmentation procedures will be clearly addressed. Both surgical and prosthetic considerations essential for predictable outcomes will be reviewed. The topic will be explored for immediate implant placement as well as delayed implant placement scenarios. Clinical case examples will illustrate decision-making and technique-sensitive steps. Potential risks, limitations, and patient selection criteria will be critically evaluated. Participants will gain practical insights to optimize soft tissue preservation across a wide range of implant treatment strategies.
