Dive deeper into the world of drug phenomena with our stimulating micro-credential. Designed specifically for anyone who wants to gain a more in-depth understanding of drug phenomena, this micro-credential offers an engaging exploration through current case studies and international empirical research. With an emphasis on the drug supply side, you will discover the various links of the supply chain, ranging from production to retail, for specific drug markets such as opiates, synthetic drugs, cocaine and cannabis.

You will gain insight into how drug markets function and explore alternative models for regulating them. This micro-credential aims to stimulate your critical thinking skills and allow you to reflect on the possibilities and limitations of (international) policy with regard to the drug phenomenon.

What can you expect:

  • An overview of international drug policy and basic concepts.
  • Research into the functioning of different levels of the drug market in consumer countries, including local markets, supra-local trade and international drug trafficking.
  • Detailed case studies on drug supply, such as opium production in Afghanistan, tackling New Psychoactive Substances, cocaine trafficking and the port of Antwerp, and local cannabis cultivation.
  • Critical discussion of regulatory models applied to the cannabis phenomenon.
