The world is transforming towards a more sustainable world. The challenges are clear and there is a lot of willingness for change. However how do we decide towards more sustainable solutions? And how do we know they are indeed more sustainable? In this course different techniques for decision making about sustainability are offered. Ranging from very data-driven techniques, such as External Cost Calculations to very people-oriented methods, such as participatory foresight studies. The course is organized in an interactive way including workshops in which we let you experience the various techniques in a hands-on-manner, complemented with lectures that can be followed online or in class. The course is therefore suitable for anyone with a professional or personal interest in Sustainability. This course is part of the regular course curriculum of VUB. It is also offered as a micro-credential, which allows non-regular students to follow it. As a micro-credential this course is interesting for everybody who is concerned with sustainability and deals with it in their organization or business. The course has a study load of 6 ECTS and provides a micro-credential certificate. Registration can be done under credit contract, which means that you will follow a semester course composed out of lectures and workshops, expressed in ECTS, and will receive a certificate after completion. When taking this course as a microcredential the cost is €315,40 for EER-students (European Economic Area) and €1690 for non EER-students. For students taking this course as an elective in their program the tuition money doesn’t change.
