Description

This English Writing Skills workshop will focus on the core technical aspects of writing in English - such as sentence construction, punctuation, and common errors - and key principles and pitfalls of reader-oriented, readable writing. It will aim to help writers, be they legal scholars or lifelong learners, express themselves clearly and precisely while taking their readers' needs into account.

Our coach and expert, Nils Smeuninx, uses authentic material. Dr. Nils Smeuninx teaches Practical English, Academic Communication Skills and Dutch for Speakers of Foreign Languages at Ghent University’s Language Centre (UCT). His doctoral research focused on the textual characteristics of corporate sustainability reporting, with a special focus on readability and the challenges complexity imposes on non-expert readers. He has since continued to apply this expertise to both academic and non-academic writing programmes at various levels of the university’s Arts and Humanities, Economics and Doctoral Schools programmes.

Register quickly (before the 1st of September 2023!), and be one of the lucky participants.
